Consider this: When asked what is wrong with the world, a young person responded, “When we date, we seek to satisfy the one we are dating. After we marry, we seek to satisfy ourselves.” Today, couples are seeking more and more self-fulfillment, yet never seem to be satisfied. We all want to do what seems right to us without considering the consequences. As someone put it, “It isn't that we can't see the solution; it's that we can't see the problem.” Consequently, we find ourselves immersed in a culture that has been psychoanalyzed into imbecility. Freud said, "The only thing
we're interested in is sex." Your worldview colors everything you see, think, and do. How has the world’s perspective on sex, money, and power affected your marriage? One great joy of the Gospel message is the way it transforms our hearts and minds. We can learn to see through “forever eyes” and have “the mind of Christ” in us. Though we will never become perfect, we can become more like Jesus as we participate in the daily process of spiritual growth and experience true satisfaction. Discuss: Do you think you have a problem with selfishness? What are some of the things you can do to give priority to your spouse’s needs? Pause here and know that the Word of God provides wise instruction for daily living, even within the close confines of marriage. In concert with the Holy Spirit, God will enable you to see daily events from His perspective.Better keep yourself clean and bright;
